go for the easy fix first. There's a tan colored wire on the passenger side of the truck, usually up under the dash or sometimes down by the floormat. Unplug this. Start truck and let idle. Syclones do seem to be bringing more lately. If you have reciepts for everything you did to the engine, then i'd say you're chances are decent.

I've never heard of this to be a common problem either. Maybe the people who steal them burn the hell out of 'em. I mean they're "on fire", not literally though
