Question about the wear on my rear main cap

Julio, one last question please. Forgot to mention that since the rear main seal installed, I installed your kit and 22 lbs of boost with Erics chip. TTA is used on the street only with occasional getting on it. What is your opinion of Valvoline VR1 oil in their 40 weight ? Its not much...

Question about the wear on my rear main cap

Thanks for the reply. Are you recommending conventional 40 grade ? I have been using Red Line 10/30. Red Line doesnt sell 40 but sells either 15/50 or 20/50 and mentions these two are for large clearances like you said BUT their site says this about the 15/50 or the 20/50 " Not recommended...

Question about the wear on my rear main cap

Bought the TTA completely stock with 29,000 miles. Did a couple of bolt on mods, such as RJC powerplate, 160 thermostate, scanmaster. Like mostly everyone else, my rear main seal was leaking. Bought a new one from Kirbans. When my friend (basic mechanic skills) and I took the rear main...

Question about the exhaust hanger near the muffler, is it still available ?

Was able to get one at NAPA and also ordered one from GM. The NAPA one had heavier and thicker rubber straps but the GM one was much better as far as the way the strap was attached to the bracket. Just thought I would post this.

Question about the exhaust hanger near the muffler, is it still available ?

The rubber exhaust hanger on the drivers side rear between muffler and the tailpipe tip is broken. Anyone know if it is still available and a part number ? Also, is that hanger unique to the TTA or is it the same that would be on any Fbody of that year. Thanks

    Spare Tire???

I checked mine for the first time last week since buying my TTA last year. It is located on the right rear behind the quarter panel. YOu have to unscrew I think 4 tan plastic screws. When I got to mine, it was hard to lift it out. At first I thought it was flat, had no air in it. Then...

Car #301 back home with pics!

In regards to the mud flaps. I dont race the car (yet) and was concerned about rock chips on the rear lower quarters. This is what I did, I bought two universal flaps and used large clips that I bought in an office supply place like Staples or Office Depot. The clips hold the mud flaps on...

    Photo From 1989 Autoshow...where?

Hello Girls I was the one who posted it. When I bought my TTA last year, a friend of mine told me he had a photo that he took at the 89 Auto Show in New York City. (If you need to know the exact location, let me know and I will call him and ask where in NYC the show was held) He said that...
