Use a 71GT-Q and a 3200 9X11 converter on a 231,, takes about 5 seconds to build 22 psi on the line with a transbrake. It works, 1.44 60ft, but spools way too slow to cut a decent light. I will be raising the stall to 4000 soon.
The valve guides would have to be very loose to actually consume a noticable ammount of oil. A loose valve guide will only have a clearance of .003 and with a positive seal on it will not let a large volume of oil past. A bad giude shouldnt smoke during acceleration unless it was drasticly worn...
