I wanted to add to the thread that the 4L80e swap I done on my car is nothing but a compliment to the Turbo Regal's drivability. And ultimately, it's a piece of mind of having a durable transmission in the car. I don't get that feeling anymore that when I go out and run the piss out of the car...
I bought the Dominator because I swapped to a 4L80e and needed transmission control. I also bought it so I can control 2 injector sets and get rid of my old way of doing it. I bought the 12.3" Pro Dash to get rid of any external gauges and to replace my boost controller. Those things in itself...
If your fuel pump relay is bad it could cause long cranking times. Especially after the engine oil gets hot. The oil pressure switch acts as a secondary way to power up your fuel pump in case the fuel pump relay stops working. Cranking your engine when it's hot will take longer to get the oil...
I made an aluminum plate and mounted it below the glove box with the connectors pointing towards the seat. I put a short curtain in front of it to hide it from view and still have quick access to the connectors. This is a mock-up of how it looks before the harness is wrapped in loom and secured...
I don't have a firewall, but it's always best to have any safety systems in place to protect you and your passengers from getting killed. Also, just to clear things up, I'm not using the Metco tank as an extra tank just to have more gas in the car.
But....IF you wanted to set it up without...
Nah. In 2022, early 2023, I had issues with the 200-4R not being able to hold the engine several times. The car's been on jackstands ever since. It's getting a TA engine, 4L80e and a Holley ECU. Give me a couple years and I'll get that 9 second slip!
I've had Metco's fuel tank in my trunk since about 2005 along with my battery. Just make sure you don't have leaks, vent it to the outside with a roll-over vent valve and you'll be fine.
For those running E85, and your "Target Air Fuel Ratio" table has been converted over to match E85 ratios, I've made an AFR and a Flex Fuel percentage gauge on these backgrounds.
Here are some figures to help set up the gauge sizes and needle sweep for the backgrounds that use 9 analog gauges.
Needle Sweep:
Speedometer: (start) -120 & (end) 90.
Tachometer: -90 & 120.
All small gauges: -120 & 120.
Gauge Size: This depends on the size of the segment marks near the...
I made these a while back that doesn't have detailed placeholders. This would look like it's about 125% larger than the factory dash would if it was on the 12.3" screen. On the 6.86" screen, it would look smaller.
Off topic but do you happen know the part number (or seal kit) of the crankshaft seal you had in your front cover? All of the kits I see have a metal balancer seal. The picture below yours is my cover without the timing cover gasket on it and it puts the lip seal on the curvature of the...
