Chevy Rebuilder???
Nice engine...just scares me a little about your builder wanting you to put a SBC  in your car because that's where his expertise is. There are lots of horror stories about chevy rebuilders messing up GN motors. Hope your engine runs as good as it looks and lives a...
I've had a set of Hooker Super Comps on my car for for 5 years and 2 engines and have not had any header to head leaks yet. I'ts REALLY nice not to hear the tick, tick, tick!! The only thing Ive done is to double gasket the headers and cut the flang between each port. The cutting of the flane is...
If you gave Red the correct info on your new set up it's not the chip, Ive run high 11's with one of Red's chips a TE60 and a stock intercoller. With that turbo and a good intercoller your more likely to be too lean at WOT than "pig Rich" with blue top injectors. You need to have some way of...
Problem solved??
Replaced sensor with a new one, engine started with no new noises and same oil pressure as before. Changed high pressure oil pump spring to factory spring. Lowered oil pressure to 55-60 cold at idle and 42lbs hot at 2000 rpm. Now I'll check the cam sensor gear again after...
Just discovered that indeed the roll pin holding the gear on the cam sensor has sheared off...now need to replace/figure out why it let go:confused: .
I'll let you know what I find out.
Father's Day was taking my 18 year old daughter out to father's day dinner in GN and noticed engine was missing under very light acceleration:confused: but once it gets into boost the miss goes away and runs normal:biggrin: a few minutes later I make a hard launch:biggrin: and look down at...
"Caddy Pills" are crushed up walnut shells GM sells for some of their Aluminum headed engines to stop leaks due to casting holes in the Aluminum...works good for sealing all small gaps.
If your going to ship your tranny out I've had good experiences and have never heard anything bad about Vince Janis at Janis transmissions in Barberton Ohio...he's got customers sending him complete cars and trannys from all over the US. Give him a call at330-753-6609.
Those mods you listed will only hurt your MPG when your hammering the throttle...assuming you have a good o2 sensor and the engine is in good internal condition. The good exhaust and intake mods will help fuel mileage untill your right foot gets heavy.
Vinceis the BEST on trannys...call Frank Parvin for engine work...he lives outside of the Akron Ohio area...330 area code..if you can't find his phone number PM me and I'll send it to you...if you still need it.
Butch
Try calling Vince Janis at Janis Transmissions. I know it's not very close to you but he'll work with you over the phone and is one of the best TR transmission rebuilders anywhere. His number is 330-753-6609 in Barberton Ohio.
I just switched from a TE45a Q-Trim to Jack Cottons ctp66bb...while I was waiting for the BB Turbo I put a stock turbo on and was amazed at how fast it spooled-up...when I put the new CTP66BB on the difference in spool up from the puny stock Turbo was so small I could not notice any difference...
