I've been having the same problem. Didnt have a chance to get to it last week, but this week I do. Can any old shop check the converter? I was recommended to send it to Del Trans, but will any shop do? -Jeff

Thanks Bruce! The guys where i work said it sounds like the front pump but hopefully its the converter. What parts would be best to upgrade if I do have to pull the pump? Any major things I should do while im in there? I know its kinda vague, but any ideas would be great! -Jeff

This isn't good. I pull up to a stop in the neighborhood tonight and all of a sudden the car started to make a loud wizzing noise. It sounded as if it was coming from underneath the car. I put it in neutral and it goes away. When leaving the stop sign normally it will get louder for a second...

It sounds like a very loud whining or whizzing and at a fairly high pitch. I cant really describe it anyway else. If it is the front pump, would it be safe to drive on? Does this require replacement usually? I'll try to check the converter bolts for the heck of it. Also I checked the fluid...

I was kinda afraid of that. Is the only way to check it by pulling the intake and doing a visual? I do have a knocking noise occasionaly from what seems to be above the #6 lifter?? What are the symptoms of a wiped cam? Thanks -Jeff

Isn't vandalizing mailboxes a serious offense? I've heard that but not shure. I like the electric shock idea, make it 2 stage, somehow, so one guy hits it, it shocks him a tiny bit, the next guy does it, it shocks him good enough that he still wants to hold on, but involuntarily of course.
