looking for a used turbo in good working condition for my 1985 grand national. turbo is burning oil so i can only assume the massive amount of smoke means its shot. let me know if you got one.
when you say your running the intake are you meaning you swapped over to a 86 intake manifold with the throttle body in the front for the intercooler set up?
all i wanted to know was if i can us a 86 up passenger side header to relocate the turbo to the front mount. will i be able to easily make a downpipe to will clear everything easily. ps i also will be removing the ac unit.
got it
so turbo was seized. popped it free with a screw driver and it barley has any shaft play but just a tad. started the car it squealed really loud so i turned it off. then tried it again and it was spinning freely. car runs alot better now
i started the car and then pulled off the maf plug wile it was running and it raised the rpms still missing during this. then i plugged it back in and car almost stalled then raised the rpms and the car still is missing.
Rpm goes to redline and boost gauge goes up a couple notches on the cluster. But like I said open downpipe and no turbo sound at all. At wide open throttle it just bogs and shutter
