    I would try pulling fuse on hotwire at alternator and turning key to ign, see if the lights no longer come on, if not , trace where someone spliced into the wiring at or near back lights, like chuck said, look at rear where hotwire goes.

    How about the orange wire near the battery, did you disconnect and forget to reconnect? that supplies the voltage to the computer.

    your worried about the gas smell? wait till you see the oil stains it leaves. JK, check the return line that is supposed to be terminated into the charcoal canister, if it is venting into nothing, get some kind of filter for it , as brad had mentioned above.

    that's probably best Ed. Upgrading to a larger turbo with stock accompanying parts will only put you into a turbo lag issue.

    Blown Dash Fuse

    Snapped a pic before it met Mr Dremmel, pierced right into the black oblong wiring loom. Fun part is it will be pot luck on what wire , or wires, it takes out.
