03-04 Cobra with ATI Procharger=700hp

July issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords,there is an article about installing the ATI Procharger with awesome results ,700hp for under $4,000.

Not bad when you think a Buick Turbo $1000 intercooler $1000,double pumper $400 adn all the rest of the goodies...

But of course you need to drop $30,000 on the car,,some have dropped $34,000 on new cobras ,,why not have a 700hp for $34000....

I do not know if the Whipple Charger powered Cobra has run an ATI powered Cobra, but ATI makes a kit for the 350Z also. The horsepower #s on that kit is great. There have been races agains the twin turbo 350Z and the ATI 350Z and the twin turbo kicks butt everytime!! The twin turbo kit makes 100 less horsepower at the wheels.

I have a feeling that the ATI unit on the Cobra will be the same way as the Turbo/Whipple Cobras.

Same In Phoenix you would be lucky if you could get it for $32k, and I would not want an ATI leaking all over my new car.

The P1SC-2 kit has a self containted oiling system. I would still prefer to put a whipple or kenne bell on it instead of the procharger. After some 60lb injectors and a fuel pump upgrade with a 2.4L KB and the new 10 rib belt setup and you'd be ready to destroy some halfshafts and shatter the differential cover

I am neither a Ford and/or Corba lover or hate, but for $ 27K out the door, I am on my way just as soon as you tell me where and who.

Call any Ford dealership in the Birminham/Montgomery,AL area.Gonna be a long drive from CA to AL though.Any of them will help you out.Or go to svtperformance.com,corral.net,etc and check there.Lots of info on the dealerships offering these car's at low price's.

Aah, I never said the they never offered them at low prices. Nor did I say that they are not offering them at low prices now. I did say that I don't believe that you can get a new '03 Cobra off the showroom floor for $ 27k out the door. And at that kind of savings, that makes it worthwhile to fly out, buy, and either drive back or fly back and have the car shipped out. FWIW & IMHO: I have not seen heavily discounted '03 Corbas or '03 Lightnings, either.

Friend said the sales guy discounted an 03' Cobra for him for 24k.

I don't know how legit that story is, but.. that is what he says. He bought a 98 T/A over that though....

The '03/'04 Cobras are worth the price they are asking and if you can get one OTD for $27 (and I am SURE you can - just might have to shop colors) then that is a steal.

My next performance car will definitely be a Terminator. I would love to have one in my garage next to the GN.

If they were $27K here I'd already have one.....

I checked out one at a dealership here in 2003. Sticker $35K + dealer markup $15K = $50K!?! WTF?

Was that an out the door price including all taxes and registration, license fees?

I looked at one out here about 6 months ago and it stickered about $ 38,500, if memory serves me correctly, and that was not out the door. That was prior to license, registration, and tax., which in Kaslifornicated, is not cheap.

I saw a used 03 at a Honda dealer ship here in at Atlanta and they were asking 28K for it. It was a nice black one.

Willowbrook Ford in Willowbrook Il. is really discounting the 03 Cobras they have left. I took out a conv. that stickered at 38,000 and they dropped the price to 31,000 without even asking. The car was very fast but the interior was so cheap looking, the seating position was to high and the you really had to reach to put the car in third gear. Also their was this clunk with the clutch that the salesman said was normal. All in all I was disapointed in the car.
