First of all , yes I know this is a long shot on a Buick forum. But I figured I would start getting the word out early. The car is not ready to leave just yet, I have to do several things to it , as in new tires ( cracked from sitting ) get it running again ( have not run it in a couple years , some fresh fuel and possibly a few gaskets in carb ) clean up dust , dirt and some mildew from sitting. I figure if I start listing it now maybe someone will tell someone and word might just get out to the right person, ya never know. I am figuring the end of April it will be , the weather is still to cold to do much right now.If it sells there are several cars on here I am drooling over rt now, but most are quite a distance from me ....
To begin with , this is not a divorce sale, bankruptcy sale or have to pay my mortgage sale. It is just one of those things where it is money tied up that is not being used and I figure I might as well sell it because my kids dont give shit about it and my wife has made it clear that if I croak it will be on the block before I am cold, lol. . It is a little difficult to part with because it did start out as my fathers car, but he only had it a year or 2 before he passed on, I have had it for well over 20 years.
Down to the details.
We found this car in Atlanta Georgia in 1987 or so. A little fuzzy of exact year, its been a long time. Brought it home in 88 I think. My dad put a black interior in it, it was orig blue but most of it was missing. Proceeded to to get the orig 383 running. He drove it part of a summer then passed away. So there it sits in the garage for approx 10 years untouched. in 2000 I started playing with it. I had it painted the orig Electric blue metallic, base/clear. Not much bodywork needed it was a southern car. Frame, floor, inner fenders completely rust free. The motor is now a .030 over 400 block, ( I have 383 out of it, not sure if it is the orig though ) the 400 was rebuilt using KB Hyper pistons, 383 rods, and the forged crank from a 383, & a high volume oil pump, 7 qt oil pan, . Assembly was all balanced and assembled by Precision Auto in Niagara Falls. I added Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Mopar Performance .557 solid lifter cam, Crane adjustable rocker arms, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake b/n Holley Carb. New 2 inch TTI headers, b/n MSD distributor & 6AL box . New 3 core rad, Hurst line lok. The 727 auto trans was rebuilt using a Alto red eagle kit, and a reverse pattern Cheetah manual valve body was added along with a Hurst 1/4 stick shifter. I believe the convertor is a 3000 stall. and it now has a set of 3:91 gears in the back. There is tons I am forgetting, but you get the idea, a lot of time and $$$ invested. To be mint , it needs bumpers rechromed and the alum finish panel on trunk lid needs to be replaced, a difficult pc to find. Bumpers are nice, just not "new" . The car was appraised about 5 years ago for $32,000 Canadian . It is 1 of 516 1968 Formula S 383 Auto cars made. A very, very rare car. No games here not listing it for $28,000 and being talked down, no haggle price of $25,000 firm. Willing to trade towards a nice clean GN or Regal T plus some cash coming my way , and you do the pick up and delivery
. Located in Smithville Ontario, about 1 hour South of Toronto near Niagara Falls. Shoot me a pm bebeep440@gmail.com or a text msg 905 807 81 five three thnx, Dave.
P.S. When I get it out of storage I will take more photos, of bottom and interior .
