I have a 1985 t type with a 3.8 and a blown engine. I found a 1983 turbo engine for sale. Mine is throttle body injection with ingnition pack and the 1983 is carbureted with distributor. Will that short block take the ignition pack and fuel injection that is on my blown engine so I can basically swap out the short block.

There is an 87 Engine for sale in Parts section. You could always go with that set-up. I think he wants $1,000 for everything including electronics.

the answer to the question that was asked is "yes". just swap your induction, exhaust, ignition, and cam sensor over to the older block and heads. it's not ideal, but it will get the car moving and keep you from getting fed up with having a piece of garage art that you can't drive. just turn the boost down and run it easy until you can build a proper motor for it. while yo uare running around with the "wrong" motor in it, you could do upgrades to the fuel, intake, and exhaust systems so that they are ready for whatever "real" motor you wind up putting in it.
