I am the 3rd owner of this Grand National since my purchase back in 1998. The car spent most of its life in Texas until I moved to Oregon in 2002. I have spent countless hours, (and dollars) working on this car to restore it to a reliable, performance muscle car.
The Grand National has been a great car second car and I hate to see it go, but I don’t have much time for it anymore and would like to pay off my new mustang. The exterior paint is original, so the paint and body could use a freshening up for a show quality finish, but personally I think it is fine for a daily driver; garage kept since about 2001. The rear bump filler has a crack on the passenger side. The interior is a good shape other than the driver side seat is beginning to rip along the sticking in the lower back area. Also, the back seat bench has one spring that needs repair.
Mechanically, the engine runs very strong and the transmission shifts hard.
The car had a lot of highway miles when I bought it since the previous owner used to drive the car from Texas to Carolina in the summers. It had 130k when I purchased the car. Currently, it has about 161k on the chassis, however, nearly all the mechanical systems on the car have been replaced. I have rebuild the engine, most the accessory systems, replaced the brakes, rebuilt the steering & front ends with all new bushings, replace all suspension components, etc. so I would equate this car similar to a lower mileage GN reliability and quality. My next project was to replace the A/C compressor that has a leak, but with the cool climate here in Oregon it has been a low priority.
Clean Title Car.
