1994 Formula with LT1 Wrecked 1 Owner I have a shot at buying cheap I Think?

A friend of mine has a chance to keep the car from the ins.co. This car was immaculate before his daughter who just turned 16 wrecked it. Low miles < 50k. The engine cranks and runs(LT1). Interior is mint (Beautiful). Suspension is ruind underneath, rearend and wheels knocked off. The girl ran off of an embankment into a rocky creek bed. No radiator busted or leaking. No oil leakage. Is this car worth $1000 provided motor and tranny are OK?

I would love to put that engine/tranny and maybe part of the interior into an 91-92 S10 pick-up.
Don't know much about what it takes to do that yet.
