1st time out with 97 GTP

I have to say I am very pleased with the performance of my wifes 97 GTP w/ leather and 114k miles on it. I took it to the wimport wars at NED this saturday for the 1st time and the car performed great. My very 1st pass was a 14.85@92.7 and a 2.28 60ft. Keep in mind this is all stock down to the air filter and also with 3/4 tank of gas and a big sub box in the trunk and me @ 215. I then later in the day took the fuse for the abs out so I could do a burnout and I managed to get the car to run a best time of 14.73@93.69 with a 2.14 60ft. car like to be left in 2nd and 2400 rpm launch. Has anyone else had this kind of luck??

Pretty nice time for 60' with fwd. I could only get 2.4s with my Maxima. Has the supercharger been replaced? I test drove a SSEI that had 91k on it and it had a new supercharger. It was WAY faster than other SSEI's I tested with 28-45k on them. Don't know if it was a fluke. How was the wimports? I was at NED on Friday night (damn cold too) and there were a few guys trying out some stuff. Some Supra was running 11.8 or faster. Any other American stuff there? I've been toying with the idea of a SSEI or GTP for a while. I just need to win the lottery :wink: Looks like you did good with that GTP.

The supercharger is still the original but it has been maintained with oil changes quite often. The wimport day was pretty good some fast stuff there, supras, corollas, starlets and a civic or 2, and some DSM's. Weather was iffy all day and the track sucked too.

Yeah the car is pretty red!! My wife loves it though!! And thats what matters most.
