2000 buick regal

when i start my car it runs for 1 or 2 seconds and then stalls with smoke coming out of the tail pipe. does anybody know what this is.

those will be better sources for an answer for a Series II 3800 question

Is it an LS or a GS?
if its an LS you probably have had the EGR burn through on the L36 composite intake. Go down to the Supercharged 3800 Tech forum down the page and look for the post 3800 With Water in Cylinders . Sounds like your problem.

Fuel pump resistor or relay?gone bad. Mine did the same thing but don't remember any smoke
