I want to install Dunlop GT's 275/60/15 on the stock GN rims on back. Will they fit with no problems or spacers? The section width is 10.8 I think.
Thanks
Tim

Don't know if they will fit or not, but here is some food. I have 255/60-15's on my T rims. I have 20 lbs of pressure in them and they still wear more in the middle as if they were overinflated. I would think that 275's would be too big, IMO.

275/60's will fit on the rim, but they will likely rub the frame. 1/4" to 5/16" spacers would be required and they still might rub a little in hard cornering. Aluminum brake drums would also help reduce rubbing, also. 275/60's will fit the car better using T-type rims. I run those with no spacers.

I have to disagree with UNGN. I had 275x50x15's and they rubbed, but I replaced them with BFG 275x60x15 and now nothing rubs with GN rims on my TTYPE.

My 275/60 BFG DRs rubbed the frame on both sides using stock GN rims. On Weld Draglites, 15x8 3.5" BS they hit the fender lip on the RH side if I don't keep the air bag pumped up.

I have 275/60/15 bfg t/a's on weld draglite with 4.5 "bs.I rub the inside rear frame only on hard cornering or woopdy doos on the road.look very aggresive and no more spinning the chit outta second gear:D

I'm running 275/60-15 drag radials on stock GN rims with no rubbing at all.

I wish I had put them on my stock gn wheels I feel that 1/2 inch less bs would do the trick...the stock gn wheel is 4" bs

I have 275/50 BFG T/A on stock GN wheels and they don't rub at all

My 275/60-15 DR's on stock GN wheels don't rub at all either , with no spacers.
Look's killer too. :D

I have nitto drag radials in the rear at 275/60/15 and they do not rub either
however it could be that I replaced the rear springs with kirbans variable rate springs before I put the tires on

P275-60-15 on 8in. GN wheels...

I have P275-60-15 on my car but they're mounted on special custom made 8in. wide GN rims, with 3-1/2in. rear spacing, with no rubbing at all, neither on the frame or the wheel lip and without having to use any spacer at all. But I'm pretty sure that on 7in. rims with the stock 4in. rear spacing, the tires are going to touch the frame unless you use some kind of spacer...It's not really the width of the wheel that's the biggest problem, it's the rear spacing!...4in. is too much for P275-60-15 tires!...
I have pics available, just let me know here or e-mail me if you want to see them, ok!
'bye!
Claude :)

i have 275/60/15 futura's on gn rims, no spacer, no frame rub. my car is lowered a bit so the pass side rubs the fenderlip on hard cornering, but not often. 275/50/15 nittos need a 5/16" spacer to avoid frame rubbing. no fender lip probs with the shorter tire though. guess this thread proves that your results may vary :)

Man, It does vary don't it? I guess one thing I have going for me is the fact that on the different brand specs I have been looking at, the Dunlop GT 275/60/15 has a 10.8" section width compared to most of the other brands having an 11"or wider section width.
I guess that tire brand also has a lot to do with the variation of fitting our cars. I think I am going to try them. If that doesn't work I may have them up for sale and go with the 255/60/15.
More suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Tim

275/60 Drag Radials on 15x7 Torque Thrust 2 wheels. Believe they have 3 3/4" rear spacing. Driver's side hit the frame on tight exit ramps, pass side was fine. Hard to tell how that would relate to other Turbo Regals as I have a Currie 9" Ford rear in my GN and not sure if it was made exactly to the width of the stock rear. Put a thin spacer on driver's side and now it is fine. Yeah, don't think you can go strictly by tire size, seems like the manufacturers just use that as a ballpark figure.
