‎30 lost, 30 unwanted visits, 30 doors receive that dreaded knock, 30 families with shattered hearts, 30 pairs of boots lined up with rifles and dog tags and helmets, 30 comrades remembered and grieved for, 30 funeral services, 30 names on newly made grave markers, 30 empty places at the table, 30 souls who gave all, whose lives leave a void, so let's take 30 seconds to re-post this and pause to reflect on such a sacrifice as 30 gone forever... ♥ ♥ ♥

Helo Shot Down, Killing 30 US Troops, 8 Afghans

God Bless Our Men and Women of the UNITED STATES Military and what they sacrifice for our Freedom!

Sad sad news. I wish the media could have left out that some who perished were from Seal Team 6 who took out UBL. Just don't want to give the Taliban something to cheer about.

Hits very close to home. Waiting to find out the full chinook crew. Rest in peace and God speed to those who were lost.

One of those killed, Jon Tumilson, grew up and graduated in a town not more than 10 miles away me...Rockford, Iowa. My prayers go out to all the families affected by this. Godspeed.

What were our troops doing on a NATO chopper? Isn't that like letting your 6 yo kid drive the rest of your family to their own funeral?

I know the articles have been saying NATO chopper, but that is what they come out with initially when all they know is it was a coalition aircraft. NATO 95% of the time means US. Same with ISAF. It was actually a national guard bird from 7-158th. I can't stand all these people online armchair quarterbacking the whole thing like they know what was going on. I said it once and I will say it again. Unless you were on the x at the time, you have no idea how it really went down. Damn shame.

The truth is, you don't half to say anything. Maybe just a hand shake or a bro hug. They know all to well the potential price.
