i just bought a 84T-Type and i looking to mod it out of corse..The turbo in the car is bad the seals are blown,so i was wonering where i can get a step up than factory turbo so can beat the ricer out and all so later on i would like to but a intercooler on and where can i get parts to do that.? dose the turbo need a bolw off vale....and can ues a GN intake mandfold and throle body i need some help send some pic too so i can get a idea...?

what the best upgraded turbo for a T-type that i still use factory injectors and stall ..and how can i upgrad to a intcooled system.. aand dose Grand Nationls intake mandfold an TB work as driect bolt up ????????????????? i need all the info i can get ????.............

you have lots of options
sounds like you want to upgrade the turbo, so basicly there are many options, check vendors that sell turbos, I'd suggest one that posts on this site. As far as the intake, there are some aftermarket ones or you can send the stock one out and get it ported. The intercooler, you can re-route the air from the turbo through the intercooler, thus giving you options of going with any intercooler you feel the need to install. I'd suggest atleast upgrading the injectors but thats just me. Its all avalable here in this message board or at www.gnttype.org you just have to look.
Its all boils down to how fast you want to go, one thing these cars don't like it a ton of new parts all at the sametime. It is much easier to do one step at a time and tune as you go.
There is always the Achly injection instead of the intercooler...you could keep it Hot-air and still go fast. Sub-13s

fireberd350: I haven't ran any times in my car. I don't get to go to the track, I just barrowed a G-force from a friend but just before I was going to up the boost alittle and get a good time i developed a no-start condition. Now the car is 600 miles away in my parents house.
I'll email you with some times if I get them soon, but it will probibily be a few weeks till i can get to it. Sorry I'm not much help. Besides I don't have posi, makes it tricker....good luck with your setup. have fun...looks like you have the stronger set up anyways

What's a turbo?

Check the sticky at the top of the page. FJM568 relocated the TB on his car so he'd be the one to talk to bout that. Before you even think about a new turbo or IC, you need to:
#1. upgrade the fuel system(pump, afpr, injectors),
#2. get some gauges(oil, water, boost, knock, whatever else),
#3. scanmasterII at least, and TurboLink or Direct Scan would be good too.
#4. some exhaust work would be a good thing to do(up-pipe, downpipe, headers, x-over, no cat, etc.)
That stuff is where you should focus before you put a bigger turbo or IC on. Unless you've already got that stuff, then go right ahead w/ your plans, but if you dont do the stuff i listed off, you wont be making full use of the power available. Clear as mud right?
