87 electric fan in an 85 not woriking

hi i have an 87 harness and engine running in my 85 but i want to be sure of the compatability of the fan relays and the 85 fuse block . do i have to rewire to a different spot with a fusable link?

If you have an 87 wiring harness,it already is wired to a fusible link.

The 85 dash harness won't have the brown relay feeder wire that normally powers the fan relays (and Powermaster relay) in the 87 style harness. You would need to piggyback the brown fan relay wire to a switched 12 volt source (wastegate solenoid comes to mind) then the fan would work.

what part of the harness does the wire come off of and can i plug it into an input on the fuse brick?
