The 84-85 T-Type and GN engines were FI but were non intercooled. You could install one in your truck.. Lots of room there but I have a feeling you'd be disapointed in the performance. You've got a 4000lb truck with a 3:08gear. If you went 86/87 GN/Ttype engine you'd be much better off. Still going to need alot of bolt on parts to get that lead cracker box moving. We did a 90 short bed with a 434SBC several years ago.. went mid 12's. took the engine out with no changes and went 11.0's in a camaro. Just somthing to think about.
