Hey all, whenever I have on the a/c, it blows out of the windshield defroster vents. No matter what setting it's on, it will do this. It still blows air at a stop. So I guess that whatever directs the air to the proper vents isn't working correctly. Any tips on how to fix this? Thanks.

The default position in the heater/defroster system is to the defrost position when no vacuum is present. Check for a vacuum line off, starting in the engine compartment.

That's what I read, it may be a vacuum leak, but which lines do I check? Vacuum lines for the a/c, or just all the vaccum lines, such as the line that goes to the fpr, and the line coming fom the vacuum block? Thanks for the quick reply.

The vacuum line that goes to the AC control enters the passenger compartment at the passenger side rear of the engine compartment. Find a convenient place to unplug the line in this area and check for vacuum from the engine. If you have vacuum, the problem is somewhere inside the passenger compartment. If you don't, there is a vacuum connection off somewhere in the engine compartment.

Check behind the egr controller near the firewall on the driver side. There is a round black plastic piece that gets it vac/boost from just under the egr valve. This is the source of vac for the vents.
