Hi All,
After much discussion and negotations with the Discovery Channel we are pleased to announce that a new reality based TV show will be coming to the an internet site near you.
We have been approached to have our shop filmed much in the tradition of American Chopper and we have the cast of characters so that it will almost mirror the Tuetul's.
We have named it American Turbo Regal or American TR for short.
The Rich's Auto characters are very close to what you see on American Chopper and in the various roles are the following people:
Jim Rome will be our Paulie, Sr.
Art Paltz will be our Paulie Jr cause he welds
Tommy X will be our Vinny cause he is the quiet one and the voice of reason.
Rich Rezes will be our Mikey who really just answers the phone and takes out the trash.
Other members of the RCA/JCC crew will have to be worked in accordingly and they will as their contributions to Rich's Auto can not and will not go unnoticed.
Discovery Channel and the internet could have gone to other TR shops in Central New Jersey to do this, but based on our reputation, the Jack and our two 9 second cars, more than other centrally located New Jersey TR shops they decided to stick with a winner and we are only too happy to partner with them.
All filming will be done on location at Rich's Auto as well as our various road trips to the track to film all of the many many customers of Rich's Auto as well as members of the JCC (Juvenille Coffee Clutch) and their cars. You will also get to see how the Rich's Auto crew relaxes after the stresses of putting together the many custom TR's we do. You'll see us at play on the golf course (my side yard), our Rich's Auto Labor Day/Buick weekend picnic, frisbee tossing and maybe even a Twister contest, tempers and wrenches will fly with that. I ain't playing Twister with Jim Rome.
You will see it all .............the wrenches will fly as time gets short and tempers fly as the RCA crew try to get the TRs done and built and out to the next event/race.
We will have our own custom "theme" TRs, we will have the Tommy TR, the PR TR, the Artie TR, the T-Rex TR, the Platehead TR, the Richie and Tommy TR, the Ebay TR,the Group purchase TR, a TR made from nothing but group purchase parts. Plus an assortment of celebrity TRs like David Letterman will stop by our shop and asks us to build him a "Late Night" TR for some "Late Night" street racing, which we at Rich's Auto do not support btw.
We will also have an old old old friend of Rich's Auto stop by a one Mr. Homer Green. Homer is the "Sticks Cunningham" of Rich's Auto who's racing legend dates all the way back to 1991 (the last time he raced his TR). Anyway he has inspired us to build the I-Homie TR, this custom TR will be modeled after his famous career as movie star and NYPD police officer.
So as you can see there is much in store for America's favorite central NJ premiere TR shop and the TRs we build for the Buick community.
We have a few "production" details to work out and expect to start filming shortly and with alot of filming to be done at Buick weekend.
