Funny, I don't even have a paypal account to the email address that this came to. Just a heads up if someone sees anything like this:

Dear PayPal member,

We regret to inform you that your account is about to be expired in
next five business days. To avoid suspension of your account you have to
reactivate it by providing us with your personal information.

To update your personal profile and continue using PayPal services you
have to run the attached application to this email. Just run it and
follow the instructions.

IMPORTANT! If you ignore this alert, your account will be suspended in
next five business days and you will not be able to use PayPal anymore.

Thank you for using PayPal.

This is just like the 20 or so I have received in the last 6 months for banking and investment funds I have absolutely no connection with. I called the local PD and gave the the info everytime I got one, and they have yet to follow up on any of this.

The easiest thing to remember is, anytime someone wants your personal ID and PIN number for anything, you do not give it to them. A service provider will NEVER ask for your pin number, period.

Just more of the scammers thinking they can fool enough people to make it worth their time to do these things.

The sad thing is, they get people with this ALL of the time. Most are VERY easy to spot but some make you wonder.

I just NEVER click ANY of the links in an email to go to wherever... I always go back to my favorites or type it in the bar if I thin k somethng is amiss.

That damn spyware they use gets your info as well. Before we learned about it, we would almost always ONLY get the fishing mails from businesses that we dealt with. After we cleared things out, we got them for everything... kinda scary they seemed to know who we did business with. And that spyware junk is legal!

The only places that seem to follow up on it are the companies themselves. You can forward the fake PayPayl and eBay emails to "spoof@ (ebay or paypal or whatever).com and they will confirm the email or not. They go after these fools with a vengence too.
