OK I did a search and didn't find anyone with the same problem.

My passenger side window goes down fine but will not go UP with the passenger side switch. If I use the drivers side switch it will go up fine. So i bought a new passenger side switch and it still wont go up!!!!!
WTF

Anybody ????

TIA
Matt

See if you have any loose connections on the passenger switch plug. Use a test light to see if you run down the problem of why your not getting 12V to the motor from that switch.

They are reversing switches.

The drivers side is the master switch and most likely the passenger switch is defective within the drivers side switch assembly.

Has N/C contacts that send the ground to the pass. side.

First test involves checking for power on the solid dark blue wire at the PASSENGER SIDE switch area, when you push the UP button for the passenger side window. Don't test the dark blue with white stripe wire by mistake.

Should have power on the pink wire as well with KEY ON of course.

Next test involes checking the TAN and BROWN wires at that passenger side switch for good ground using the OHMS scale to a good piece of metal ground on the car. That's a key off test.

Most likely you will need piercing probes or have to be very good at sliding the switch assembly just a LITTLE BIT Back to get at the terminals for this testing.

YOU HAVE to leave both switches connected to the wiring to do these tests.

If you don't want to do all this testing find a good DRIVERS side switch assembly and toss it in there.

The testing will verify both switch assemblies however.

When testing the TAN and BROWN wires for a good ground connection you don't have to operate any switches at all for this test. Key off test as well.

Great info, Alan. Now that I recall, I just replaced my driver side switch for the same problem within the past year. I forgot. :o My passenger side even started working faster. :D

FIXED

Thanks Alan, once again your electrical wizardry comes to my aid. It was the drivers side switch. All works fine now.
Strange how you can have a problem on one side and it be the switch on the other.

That's because it's very funky wiring.

Kind of like a 3 way switch you would find on the top and bottom of a set of stairs, either one can turn on or off the light.

When they don't work problem can be anywhere.... :(

Lots of areas to increase resistance in each switch contact and extra wiring so that doesn't help the speed of the windows either.

If you hot wire the power to them, make sure you hot wire the grounds at the factory locations also.

Don't add any grounds or power to the wrong wires however. That wouldn't be pretty. ;)
