I was just wondering if their is any software that can be used on my laptop to scan my car. I plan on upgrading to the 87 ecm in the future, but I would like to see what my car is doing right now. I have a ALDL cable that I use on my 94 Z28 (OBD 1). Will this cable work for my 85?

Thanks,

Rob

I got an OTC 2000 Scanner you can have it for $120.00 plus shipping, this will also work with your upgraded 87 ECU when you finally decide to do that.. :)

Hey Rob. If the older version of Turbolink will work on your car you can borrow my setup. I live in Dexter, over by Ann Arbor.

Turbo Link works but it does not display very much info with an 84/85 ecm compared to an 86/87 ecm. The ecm conversion is really simple and if you could see the difference with Turbo Link between the different years you will want to convert asap. I did :D. Also there is a current thread on TB's board about a free program called Turbo Meter. TurboBuicks.com - How to setup Turbometer Pro and scan your car.

I'm guessing turbometer won't work with the 84/85 ECM?
