I am thinking of buying a dry suit and wondering if anyone here dives and has one.

I have a Scubapro semi-dry but thinking of going with a full vulcanized rubber one.

i've been diving since 98, and live in the northeast, personally the diving sucks, and i won't invest in gear to dive in merky grey water with hardly any fish, i head south, i still do some dives in the summer to stay current, i just stay above the thermalcline till it gets into the later summer, but they are just currency dives, after 1 week in mexico, i just can't do the northern waters again, unless i was on a wreck, thats my view, so no dry suit for me, just a bunch of 3mil stuff

Up here in MI there isn't much to see either unless you go to some wrecks in the great lakes.

I have quite the assortment of wetsuits and even a semi-dry......just thinking it would be cool to stay completely dry.

I have been to Mexico and Hondurus and while the water is warm.....I still get chilled.

Love to dive

I have one.
They are ok if you dive in cold water and in the open depths of the ocean.
As far in normal water temps a semi is a lot more comfortable.
NO squeeze to worry about.
Sometimes burpping them can be a pain.
But all in all if you don't mind the extra work and want to stay warm they are great.
Depends on your experience as a diver and where you plan to go with your diving.
Just my two cents.

Just short of dive master. :)

AJ,

what is the squeeze?

I have gained a pound or two...maybe three since I bought my semi and it gives me the squeeze now :-)
