long story short 2 shops later I still got a 383 that is just a dream Is there ANY shops in northern IL who can do the machining without taking 6 months *cough* fastimes *cough*

no one particular to ask for.
I had them balance my assembly.
They started on it when they said they would (a week after I dropped it off), called immediately to keep me informed (needed some heavy metal for the balance = additional $$$ which they quoted), and called as soon as it was done and the price was exactly what they said it would be...
I thought I was dreaming.
I've never heard of a machine shop having good business practices...
