Let me first off say I really dont watch this BS any more but was flipping though the channels and watched some for a good laugh. One thing REALLY DISTURBED ME during commercials two,arab men one wrestler and maybe his manager start talking one repeating the other in arabic. The message was how we are arab americans that are discriminated everyday by you "americans" at airports,restaurants and so on. And as the message goes on the wrestler says he will beat the crap out of anyone who does so. To sum it up its pretty close to calling for arabs become violent and boarders on what might be called terrorism against anyone who they think is discriminating them. I first thought it was a joke or somthing but saw it again/ther playing it every broadcast! I cant imagine what the hell the WWE is thinking playing this to ther audience mostly the young. It sure is hell isnt going to curve racism
I saw it too. But you gotta realize the WWE is all about entertainment. When I saw that I laughed my a s s off. It was funny. They are playing the part of the victims since 911. Because they view Americans as stereo typing all Arab's becuase of 911. So there take is they have had enough of being disrespected by the Americans for something they had no part of because they were born and raised in the good Ol USA. Nothing on the WWE in terms of acting is true, everybody knows this. You have to take it for what its worth, which is merely entertainment. But if you are a younger viewer they have disclaimers after every commerical break stating the content is not suitable for some people, viewer descrection is advised. I don't follow it anymore either but by doing the channel surfing thing I ran into it aswell. I have to admit he did a damn good job playing the part. The sad part about the whole situation. Is that this is scting, but the overall generalization is that alot of Arabs that live in the USA have been stereo typed with these claims.
It's nothing new from McMahon & co. Remember the early/middle 80's featuring the Iron Sheik (supposedly Iranian) and Nikolai Volkhoff? This one is in pretty poor taste however, even by WWE standards......
