I have done two... the first one (15 row) turned out great, the second (20 row) not so great. I'd think you will find that you won't have much room to "clock the turbo housing down" as the stretch will still sit in the same location with relation to the top of it. I don't know what you have in mind, though, so go for it!
TEST the cores before you procede! That is what was/is wrong with my second one, a badly leaking core, and now it's too late!
I don't know what advice to give you really. I did the cutting of the cores, the fabrication of the new tanks, and called in some favors to get the welding done. I did make the BGC style neck on the first, and a "low profile neck" for the second IC out of two 2.5" cast elbows from Turbonetics that allowed me to raise the whole IC up in the car about two inches since it was a 20 row.
