Looking to see if I can run a set of the Drag Radials 275/60's on a 7 inch rim. Anyone doing this?

I had mines on my stock GN rim that a 7" wide rim. But needed a spacer because it was hitting the frame but if you got aluminum drums its will be fine.

Ditto

Fit fine on stock T-type wheels with no spacer really required due to the slightly less backspacing.

I would be mounting these on 15x7 Torque Thrust 2 wheels with 3 3/4" backspacing. Right now I have 255/60's on it and traction is non-existant. Just wish that BFG made that size in a drag radial. I also have another set of wheels with Q/T Pros but I have been putting too many street miles on them because I love the traction and hope to have a decent bite with drag radials.

those should work perfect. Keep tire pressure around 18 psi at the track. 36 - 24 on the street (depending how much traction you want). You can't go too much lower than 18 psi on a 7" rim or they start to cup.

Just to be sure we are all on the same track here, these are the 60 series tires we are talking about, NOT the 50 series. My only problem is that I have a Currie Ford 9" rear in the car (was in there when I bought it) and not sure if it is the same exact width as the stock rear. I have a friend who has the 275's on his car and will borrow one to eyeball it on the car.

And yes Boston Boy, if I decide to do this I will sell the 255's to you. Hardly any miles on them.

thanks Mark,
Also, I plan (in the future) on the same as you as I need a 28" tire. All that I have read says they usually fit with no problems anywhere. They fit better than the 50s as they tend to rub a little, being that they have a larger footprint. So I don't see why you should have any problems with the 60 series DR.

Thanks again
