Anyone use Sunoco unleaded 260 ?

Since I was getting some knock at 22 lbs of boost even with Razors kit, I decided to try and add 10 gallons of Sunoco GT260 Plus to my almost empty tank. The 260 Plus is unleaded 104. I did not get any knock. I then checked Sunocos site and it seems that the GT260 (not the Plus) which is 100 octane is more suited for turbo cars based on the explanation given on their web site of both the 260 and the 260 Plus. I called their tech dept and spoke with a rep who said that the 260 Plus has more oxygen in it and that our 20 year old technology cars may not be able to compensate for the added oxygen.

So, my question is, has anyone been using the Plus 104 octane with any problems or is it best to just stick with the 100 octane ?

Ask the guys from California what oxyginating does to gas. :eek:
 
Don't worry about the too much Oxygen comment. With your mods you already know to not let it lean out. VP's new Q16 is highly oxygenated - it just means more fuel in needed to make up for the extra "boost/air = Oxygen"

I would think that the ALKY kit you have should easily permit 22 PSI and more with 93 octane pump gas.

If the 100 works at the desired boost level then fine, but 104 will let ya run more boost - if them 30pph injectors and methanol can keep up.
