While my '87 GN is still up on stands,I figure it's time to remove the stock pump. I'd like a pump that is not in the tank for practical reasons.

I've seen the ones at Jay Racing's site. Checked em after doing multiple searches here.

I know this will involve special fittings and some line work,as well as sending unit fabrication in regards to the pick-up.

I've got a hot-wire kit ready to install.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Think it would be more impractical to make all those changes.

The Buick tank is a quick drop.. just drain it at the rail, a floor jack, a ratchet with a long extension.. its a painless procedure. Just buy a new Walbro and be done with it. 1 hour latter.. your back in business.

Just my .02 :)

I'm using a Bosch 044 in line with no intank pump. You'll need 1/2 in. suction line. Actually I'm using 2 044---one runs constant--the other comes on @ 12 psi

jay's racing has a new pump that is the size of the walboro but flows more than the bosch 044.supposed to be a direct drop in tank.i believe its the pt340 on the website.

Well I was going to make a separate post on this in the E85 forum and in doing so, killing off the Bosch 044 fittings and that mod I had done.

There is a new pump coming in January, the DW300, that is an intank E85 compatible pump. It will level the Walbro and it looks and is sized just like it.

Best part for us is it has a 3 year warranty, and we know all to well about pumps and warranties around here. :frown:

Thanks for the tip. Who is gonna have this DW300 pump? I can wait until it is avail in January. There's lots to do in the meantime. We've got nothing but snow and salty roads up here anyway.

I'll have to read your posts in the E85 section. I don't go there because I don't run E85. There is an E85 station only a few miles from me,tho.

Thanks guys for the info.

Aeromotive had a new walbro-beater intank pump at the PRI show, too. Not sure yet about E85 but it looks like a good time to be shopping for a pump :-).

Does the Aeromotive have a 3yr warantee like the DW300 does?

I'm pump shopping,that's why I ask. Plus,I don't mind some fabrication.

I don't know, I just saw it mentioned on another site by someone who was there. Call them and ask.
