I've still got the original style mass air pipe & I've got a bracket that connects the original style maf to the alternator bracket that gives it support. Can you use that same support system/bracket to support the LT1/LS1 sensor & will the original mass air pipe reach to the LT1/LS1 sensor?
If not possible, do I have to go with a solid mass air pipe using the LT1/LS1 sensor & does it still need a support bracket?

I use a 3 1/2" LS1 MAF.

Solid chrome pipe to the turbo from the MAF.

Stepped up to a 4" bigmouth metal pipe and out to a 4" K+N.

No brackets.

Just my .02.

When you say original, I think of the flex pipe or hose. I used mine for a couple of days with the 3".

What I did was a stock air filter, elbow, 3" maf, and stock pipe/hose.

The elbow was a tight fit. The hose I removed the inlet bell on the turbo and connected it to the hose first, then installed the bell on the turbo.

Its a tight fit because the 3" or 3 1/2" MAFs are shorter than the stock MAF.
