OK, while cleaning my air filter today, I got the bright idea of removing the restriction in the snorkel on the airbox lid. Now the thing runs like crap ! Is it possible that doing something that minor would warrant a jet change?

yes cutting the restrictors out will need jetting

once thats out and you get rid of the restrictive stoock muffler it will be a different bike

jet size would depend on if you go with dynojet jets or mikuni jets they are numbered different

you could find that info real quick on www.bluetraxx.com in the raptor section

I havent been on there lately since I havent even had time to look at my Raptor

If your going to cut restrictors out drop the header off it and grind down the welds in the pipes by where it mounts to the head

raptors are very restricted stock .. they run way better un retricted

If you buy parts for it I found Camron at www.rspconcepts.com to be a great guy to deal with

I been thru all them steps with mine alread .. now Im up to 686cc higher compression hotcams stg2 cam and ported head

kinda hard for my 175# self to keep it upright now :D

oh yeah if you find a round about jet sizes for dynojet jets which will probly be 150-155 range you can cal dynojet and order just jets which is all you really need .. they are like $2 a piece heck your close enough you could drop by and get them ..lol

jet kits they sell for raptors are a waste of about $80 because they have different needles and lighter springs for the carbs but you dont need them they make it too rich at part throttle

scott---ill look thru my stuff today. i had a whole jetkit for my 02 that i never got to install before it was stolen. if i find it you can have it.

I don't get to ride mine much, so I always use "fuel stabilizer" in it.

Hey you guys have any fuel issues when your quad sits for any length of time?
Yes, I have a 03 YZ450F and it doesn't like to start without fresh fuel. My yz426f and yz400f were the same way.
