Anybody know how I can check to see if my oil pressure gauge and sending unit is funcitoning properly? I am guessing I can do a resistance check w/ a multimeter or something along those lines but I am just guessing. I even tried to look on their website and no luck there.

TIA :) ,

The best method would be to use an accurate mechanical gauge and a brass T to plumb them both into the same spot.

Calibrate to the mechanical one.

You would need the engineering specs. for the sender to calibrate with resistors to see if the gauge is off.

Midpoint and high range values would be needed one in the low range would be a bonus.

Autometer has very good technical support so if you give them the model number and a nice email to customer service or tech. support you may get a range of resistance or voltage to pressure chart from them directly.

Yea, that sounds good. I need to get a mechanical gauge first. How does the mechanical one hook up? Is the hookup located where my sending unit is? I never really had to mess w/ this before.

TIA,

If you have an air compressor and hose readily available, set the a/c valve to whatever you like, and blow air into the sending unit.
