I tried to send a 12 meg AVI file via email and it failed with my old ISP, and now it fails with my new ISP. Norton opens and says it's because my ISP won't allow that size to be sent. I've confirmed this by phone with my ISP.

Is there any way to send this file via email?

Thanks.

If you have Winzip, you can use that to split it into multiple segments, and then send each segment in a separate e-mail (I suggest a few minute delay between each send).
Run Winzip.
Start a new archive ChrisVid.ZIP
Add your ChrisVid.AVI to the zip file
Under the Actions menu, choose SPLIT
Set the Part size to (say) 2 MB.
Specify a filename. ChrisSplit
Click ok
You will now have ChrisSplit.z01 .. ChrisSplit.zip. Attach each to a different e-mail and send them.
The recipient (assuming they have Winzip too), should be able to save all attachments into one folder, and then open the ChrisSplit.zip which will re-assemble them.

Hey Jack, my long lost son,

Thanks. I tried what you said and it worked !! At least it sent them. Now we'll have to wait to see if the recipient can piece 'em together. :)

BTW....those are the BEST puter directions I've ever rec'd or read. Most people seem to leave some steps out....you didn't. Thanks again.

hey

Chris- are you an administrator @ turbotransam.com?

It works!

Chris, it worked!

thanks for the video! I'm buying you lunch next time we see ya!

The problem was that I needed to upgrade to Winzip9.0. I was using 8.
