Bought this shifter for top doller on ebay and took the day to install it, anyway when you pull on the reverse lockout handle nothing happens, moves a cm!
Is there a trick to this or what?

Also i have not mounted the shifter cable to the trans yet, Nick M pictures on the website have a different trans cable braket then the half dozen ones that came with the shifter.
 
you DO have the key turned on, don't you?:)

do not use the stock shifter cable that comes with a Megashifter....get the HD one...it is about twice as big and actually works
 
Thanks for the instructions.

I do not have the cable hooked up to the tranny yet.
I assume that in 4th gear i should be able to pull the handle (2 finger) up and get into reverse and park correct??

I can not get the 2 finger handle to pull up.
 
do you have the linkage hooked to the column?

The shifter is in the car, the shifter cable is hooked to the shifter and dangling on the floor, so key on/off or linkage to the column does not make a difference.

P.S. I noticed this before i bolted it into the car but figured i needed to have it supported better to pull the lever up.
 
if the column linkage is hooked up (shifter cable doesn't matter)

it ain't gonna move unless the column is released (via the key)

you never said if the linkage was hooked....just trying to help...I have a Megashifter in my car
 
well, you cannot start in neutral.......to get it into park.....put it down one gear, then pull up and go to park

Ok thanks, thats what i needed to know!
I was trying from Neutral to get it into park.

Now all i have to do is fab a bracket for the trans........since i got a bracket for every other trans except a 2004r.
 
On my shifter (rev pattern) but how it works should be about the same. I must be in first gear or the trigger will not unlock. So if you have it set up for the 200R4 my guess is that unless the shifter is in the "D" position the trigger will not let you shift into either "N" "R" or "P". The trigger will only work in one gear and not work with the rest.

Yes thanks for the info guys, got it all figured out last night.
Now i have 5 feet approx of shifter cable that i have to fart around with.
 
Shifter cable has a threaded end and i do not have the proper shifter lever for the cable, anyone have one?
I have a bunch of brackets but none of the gm ones.
Going to try a shop tomorrow and hopefully they have one kicking around, i called a place today and they said i would have to buy a complete new cable to get the parts.

Also i am missing one of the nuts for the cable to tighten it to the trans bracket, tried 5 different places here for the 7/16 nut and no one has the proper thread, again tomorrow i will try a specialized shop to get the nut...........fun stuff!
