Started tweaking the 13 sec GN driver since the engine is out of my 10 sec T. Ran 13.025 @ 104.49 so I was happy for a new personal best.
Funny part was a in the pits a fox body car's team member asked me if I wanted to race. Hmm, let's see what they are running, trailer-check, slicks n skinnies-check, crew-check, N/T on the window-check, says it ran 12.9 last time out-check...I tried to play dumb but couldn't. I told him I only had a mid 13 second car and was just TnT, but I'd gladly run them in my other Buick when I get it back, because I know that 'stang runs easy 10's.
The GN: stock rebuild with TRW's. Just had the tranny freshened and while driving it around with a tank full of GT100, I happened to drive all the way to the track
With baby seat in the back, spare tire, little compressor, tuning tools, full weight street trim I headed for the lanes. I didn't take anything out to lighten the load.
TE44.63, ATR 3" ext dp, test pipe, TT 98 chip, factory Y exhaust with dual mufflers welded in, red's xp pump hotwired, volt booster, 60# injectors, billet top FP reg 42 psi line off, 9 inch K&N and gbody parts alum radiator are the only mods right now. Tires were MnH 275 50 17 drag radials.
Managed to make my way up to 20psi boost run 0KR and 775O2's all the way shifting at 5000-5200 rpm each shift staying in 3rd through the traps.
13.025 @ 104.49 mph Density Altitude was 1323ft. Didn't crack 12's but it was hot and if I let the car cool off rather than being 180F maybe next time 12's with more boost since there was no knock, not bad for a daily driver. I beat a Cobalt SS, Trailblazer SS and Mustang that were running mid low 13's too. 3-0 for the night = good times!
What's everyone running on GT100 with stock heads, cam, intercooler? I'm thinking 110-115 mph max.
