Bad Gas Milage

what are some of the cause's for bad gas milage ?
o2 replaced, not to long ago. fp set at 40 line off?

Right foot, driving conditions, and chip. In that order.

Cracked Header (any leak before the turbo)
Plugged cat
Wrong chip fr combo
Slipping trans or converter
Right foot

Can't a MAF that's on its way out cause that too?

You know, my car has bad mileage too! Normally though it is only when I am driving it hard. But it really makes me wonder how I burned a 1/4 tank just tryin to get my alcohol system tuned???

no right foot problem, (maybe a little)
fixed cracked header (a while ago)
no cat on the car
trans feels good

i did put on a ls1 maf and a translator,
and a thasher chip, not to long ago ?

Ok, what is your mileage?
City driving or highway?

I have an LT1 MAF and Thrasher and get decent mileage (not great, but my odometer is off too) Make sure you have the dip switches set correctly and both dials at zero

I wouldnt expect more than high teens in around town driving. A bad O2 can kill mileage also. Leaky old injectors? I'm grasping now

Is the chip burned for 009's? is there black smoke pouring out the back of your car?

I would contact Jay Carter or TurboJim and have them burn you a chip for your specific combo

Bad gas mileage

My car is pretty thirsty also, mostly freeway some street i will only get around 190 -200 miles per tank. I've replaced fuel filter, plugs, added fuel injector cleaner and little things like that. I'm going to change over to a Thrasher Chip and see what happens.

190-200? I can only muster 150 miles out of my tank at most.

I may have a slipping trans and i aslo got the original stock injectors. When i punch it, a cloud of smoke pours out the back, but i think thats from the stock pcv valve.


At wot i get o2 aroud 770-795 with knock at most 3 @ 18 psi on 93 octane.

I recently changed from Reds 93 to an extender & myblms went way up on the hiway. I now get 2 more days on a tank.

Put that Translator to better use and give Bob Bailey, aka TurboBob a shout and get yourtself an Extender chip.

i took out the thrasher chip, put in a reds chip, gas milage is better, stumble is just about gone, very little.
but the car does not pull as hard, as it did with the thrasher.
