I"ve heard that a bad TCC could cause a code 31. I'm gettin that and my tranny slips shifting into 3rd pretty bad. Now my question is, if i've been drivin my car for a month now with a Bad TCC does that normally wipe out the tranny or could I get away with just replacing the TCC?

No, I've never heard of a bad TCC solenoid tripping a code 31. That is a wastegate solenoid electrical malfunction code.

Driving around with a disabled TCC system isn't recommended and the posibility for damage depends on driving conditions and habits.

Generally, extended periods of high speed freeway operation in OD with the converter slipping the whole time will generate excess heat. Heat is the transmission's biggest enemy.

If your transmission is slipping into third and has a properly adjusted TV cable along with clean fluid/filter, I'd say a rebuild is lurking in your near future.
