I would like to step up and get a Bat brake. Is there anything that is required to be used in conjunction with the bat brake (do I need to buy a deep trans pan and sump?). Or do I just buy the bat brake and thats it. I know there are valve body mods that need to be done. Is this something that can be done at a local trans shop, or is it required that Bruce do the mods?

Bruce, I would like to call you and talk about this setup also.

Thanks.

i have a bat brake and love it ., although you need the big deep pan. which is also not a bad thing either. just gets priicey. I believe that CK PERFORMANCE also offers an electronic brake that you do not need a big pan to use.

Bat Brake requires deep pan and vb mods and would suggest sending vb in to get them although they can be done by a competent trans shop with the guidance of Bruce.

yes sir. I had bought it used from another member, but it was in a non BRF valve body and it game me a very late 2-3 shift. So i converted my BRF valve body to accomadate. But while were in technical discussion can i ask what would give me a slight bind on the 2-3 shift?.This happened with both valve bodies, But is something i did not have before the trans brake.
Thanks In adveance

band is not releasing as quick as 3rd clutch applies, may be band is set too tight. What kinda servo set-up are you using?

right now using the new sonnax one. i have a couple different servo return springs, right now the one from the bat brake is in it.
I forgot to mention that this only happens at light throttle, any thing more than 1/3 throttle is ok, mostly when tooling around town.

maybe a stiffer return spring or opening up the 3rd accum. hole in sep. plate may help.

how much should i open the 3rd acc hole, pulling trans tomorrow to put in my billet roller stuff.
Thanks Otto
bind was bad enough were tonight i lost 2cd gear (slipping pretty good) But only binds on light throttle 2-3 full throllte is perfect.
just not sure why, did not have this problem before installing the bat brake.

If it is what I am thinking...

You have a BAT BRAKE and you HAVE a 3rd acc hole? In the plate? Are you sure it is the plate that came with the Brake from us? Hrmm interesting....

Aint goin slo, I would be the source.

i would have to double check the plate, but i do believe it is blocked with a plug. What else can i to get rid of the 2-3 bind. again it is only a light throttle problem.Full throttle shift is perfect.
would it be ok to drill the plugged hole?
thanks Otto
also it is your plate and has your engraved markings on it.My billet parts
i picked up a from a trans done with pts parts by Century trans, but the od planet has cracks down it, must order another Billet one.and the Billet input was stuck to the forward drum,it had a little lip on it so i would not come out of the bushing.
