I was looking through my old manual and CKs new manual and looking at a real picture in CKs manual of the bearing that goes in the overdrive ring gear that mates to the planetaries, I am thinking i may have installed it upside down. My orginal manual shows it with what appears to be the "bigger" side (what most would assume is the top of the bearing) facing up with 3 notches equal distance apart around the bearing. But the picture in the CK manual shows it the other way. Is this something worth pulling the tranny and flipping around? Am I losing fluid/lube to the bearing having it this way? Its not something i want to do for sure but if it is going to cause a problem then I will pull it. The tranny already has 9,000 flawless miles on it. Thanks a lot

in chapter 3 it clearly states verify the black race of the bearing points down and the 3 notches up when installed into the ring gear.this info is correct.the photos may not be perfectly clear try a mag glass

Sorry Chris i don't have mine presently with me.... but for peice of mind.... are you saying the shiny side when pulling the ring gear off the planetary and the bearing still sitting in its groove on the ring gear should be the visible side or am i reading you wrong? Thanks for the help Chris.

with the ring gear visible the 3 notches are visible and not the black side

Awesome then mine is in correctly. Thanks for the insurance. I probably just looked at the picture wrong. :)
