I've had good luck, 3-4 years all season daily use, with the Sachs ones available at Pep Boys.

Stabilus line, SG330004. 92503.

Hecho in Mexico.

Bought ONE hood strut for about $25 off the shelf at Advance Auto Parts per my TB Guru. Holds up the hood and closes easy so you don't bend the hood at the hinges. HTH.

I have had good sucess with Strong Arm lift supports. They seem to last about 5-6 years and if you buy them at most major parts stores, they have a lifetime warranty. The last set that I warrantied were no longer in store stock, I had to wait a couple of days for delivery.

Hi,
I bought mine from Autozone, and they are too stiff.I'm sure that will fix itself soon,as these are a problem part.By the way, a softer strut was listed, for lightweight hoods. Does anyone know anything about this?

I bought the Sachs brand off Ebay. I asked Kirban in an email what brand does he carry and his reply was that he has sold thousands. He didn't tell me the brand.

I hate when they do that, like the guys listing the GM parts on ebay and refusing to give you the part# because he knows your going to see how bad he is trying to rape you @gmpartdirect.I asked the ebag selling the grey sunvisors what vehicle they were from and he said he has sold many many...I move on as soon as they say that you know your prolly getting screwed.

I got my set of Strong Arms for free. They do work well, much better than the Auto Zoo standards. Haven't had them but a couple of years, but they have been flawless. Once stroked a couple of times, they don't flex the hood hinges. They do seem to lift the hood a tad higher than the A/Z cheapos. Have you noticed that?

I just installed mine (Sachs). Now when I pop the hood, it actually "pops". I no longer have to do the Fonzy (hit it with my fist) to get it to open all the way. I think one strut that I replaced was factory as it had the blue sticker on it with a part #. I also think the hood opens further now than before.
