I've got 009 injectors and was wondering what turbo and intercooler would be best for a fast street car? I've also got the 2800 lock up converter on already. thanks guys.

IMO, mod the stock intercooler ... and go with a te-44 or ta-49 turbo w/ alky kit!

That should do it!!

unless my definition of fast street car is different than yours;)

IMO, I would go with the CAS V-4 intercooler and a TE-44 turbo. You should have great streetability and reliability. Oh and also it should move pretty good. BTW the alky kit might not be a bad idea either, just for insurance :D .

what do you think these set ups will be able to do in the quarter? It gets kinda confusing, some guys go all out and run mid 12's some guys go low 12's with stock turbo.

With your current set-up and the intercooler and turbo we've suggested, you should be well into the 11's. I would say 11.50-11.80's easy. It will all depend on how the car hooks, how well the transmission works, and how good of a chip you have for your combo. Seldom does one thing do it all. Everything must work together in harmony.

Those guys that are running low 12s w/ stock stuff have there cars tuned very well. This is something i suggest before any mods at all..

You and your car will be much happier:)

Thanks guys. So what turbos better for street with a little strip thrown in?

Go with the TE-44.;) When I had the most fun on the street I was running a TE-44, 36#, and a V4 intercooler.. I shi# you not, I think It was the fastest car around from Stop light to Stop light.. I got a best of 11.7 with 110% duty cycle. So I think the 009's would be safe in that range..
Good luck,
Matt:cool:

I went with the 009's and Precision's TA-51 that will support roughly 580 or so HP. I have a 9X11" 3500 stall converter and even before the 3" THDP and the V-4 IC, it spools faster than the stock setup! I can tune this to go as far into the 11's as I want, I'll need some port/polish and cam work to get any 10's out of it though..... Very streetable and very fun :)

The TE-44 is always a good choice, but it all depends on how fast you want to go, if you want to really get into the deep 11's or even 10's someday, the TE-44 probably won't be enough. But, if all you're going for is street fun, then you'll be fine :D

ecmo92,

I use the TE44 on my daily driver. It will take you well into the 11's with the proper tune in, with your set up.

Old set up:

I have ran 1/8 mile times with the TE44, 009's, stock I/C big neck, 200/200 cam, Mod D5 converter and went 7.19. with 26 psi of boost. The 009's will lean out on a hard 1/4 mile pass.

My new set up is:

TE44, Comp 212/212, Power Plate, 009's, big neck I/C, Ported Irons SS big valves, T&D rockers, ported intake, 3" DP with Deltagate, 340 pump and hot wire, Modified D5 converter, Level 10 shif kit. etc. This combo is brutal on the street! I will soon add a SMC alky kit to go along with the 19 psi of boost I am running on pump gas.

IMO, the TE44 is the best street turbo period! I drive this car every day with good milage and great reliability. Not to mention when a Mustang comes along..... you get my point.:D

I have been using the T63e the past few days while John Craig reseals my TE44. The T63e is a beast but a little lagy. I like the TE44 for street performance. Plus I don't have enough injector for the T63e on a long pull.
