BIG RANT: Wedge Engineering

hey guys. I bought a recaro seat for the gn and heard about this company that makes seat brackets for any application. I gave them a call a month ago to place an order. The seat bracket costs $75 , which is totally fine. Then the guy states the packing is $15 and shipping is $35. This bracket weights no more then 6 lbs and I have to pay $15 for someone to put it in a reg box and $35 to ship it grd? They stated it was in stock and would be at my door in a month, why a month?? guy says well if you want us to push it through the other orders it is additional $25! WTF! 1 month passes, i call the guy up. He says "I havent gotten around it yet and I am going on vac, I doubt the guys here will do it so call me Sept 6th! WTF! I am so pissed I cancel my order, guy says there is a $20 fee! for what! you didnt make it yet! he says for the ink and paper! Unreal!! what the hell is the matter with these people!

Am I blowing things out of proportion here? I am calling my cc company!

I would have cancelled right here. So many of these guys are making a killing off of shipping. Looks like he's dealing with high dollar car owners and could care less about you.

What a scumbag, this is one of those times where we need to collectively figure out how to screw this guy.

Putting a stop payment on the CC is a start I think.

at first he was trying to push me to buy brand new recaro's but i told him i already ahd them and jsut need 2 brackets. I guess I am a little guy. He is not taking $20 from me though!

Yeah I had to wait, didn't pay that much for shipping at least not for packing think it was 25 bucks of coarse that was last year. They weren't in stock, each one is individually handbuilt. He did tell me upfront it was 4-6 wks because they had alot work ahead of my order. They had just gotten a fairly big job order. They must do other type fabricating, then just seat brackets. Did call at four weeks and he somewhat apoligized and said he's get to it the next day. He got em done that week and UPS ground took almost a week so it come out to 6weeks

So I waited and waited it was worth the wait though bolted right up to original bolts in floor board no reaming no drilling no ugly bent plate stock you have to drill out.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the guy, I'd have to say he wasn't Mr. Personality his product fit like a glove.
