Body work for doors

Does anyone know if there is any way to fix the bottom of the doors on my TR. It is rusted through about 1-2 inches in places. Rest of the door and rocker pannels are fine. Oh and the rear corners are rusted on the doors too.

The only way to fix rust is to cut off the rusted metal and weld in new metal.

Thanks red but it is not only the outer skin but inner. I was wondering if it would still be fixable or if once the inner door pannel is rusted that is the life of the door. Thanks a lot red

everything is fixable at a price you'd have to find some one good, and they are probably expensive.

maybe better to try to find some replacement doors?

You can get a decent pair of doors cheap from a salvage yard. 81-87 regal and olds cutlass doors will work. I wouldnt bother trying to fix rotted doors when theyre easily replaced.

my GNs doors where not rotted but it had a few dents in it so i got one from the salvage yard it was nice and stright and no dents the best 50 i spent on the car and it will save you alot oif time and money

I find very few rust free doors even here in Florida. I look at about 150 just put out cars every week. Very few are G-bodys, and of the Olds and Cutlasses, practically every one has rust. You're very fortunate to find a good door these days.

Wow I didnt realize door were that cheap, at least doors that are still in one piece.

I just got a set of cutlass doors for about $200.00 . They are not the greatest but a lot better than what I have on there now. I found them out in Bithlo which is a small town in florida which is full of junk yards. You should know where that is dont you Red?

Where are you from,might help some people give you a heads up where to be looking for doors or maybe someone near by has some
