From what I have been reading both are great valve bodies but have different shift points. What would be the advantages and disadvantages of using one over the other? My other question is which spring is spoken about in this clip.

Code Model
BRF 86-87 Grand National Servo casting # = 94 Lipseal servo w/ strongest spring
TAF* 89 Anniversary T/A Servo casting # = 94 Lipseal servo w/ strongest spring
CZF 86-87 Monte Carlo SS Servo casting # = 92 Lipseal servo w/ 2nd strongest spg
OZF/KZF 85-7 442 , 83-4 Hurst Olds Servo casting # = 92 Lipseal servo w/ 2nd strongest spg
Only buy transmissions produced after 1/84; avoid 88 models; 90 models are the best.

Sal,
The CZ is actually a more responsive valvebody. It will give you a little more of a kick down, and a WOT shift point near 5500. I have used many of these in GN`s and the customers always like them. The only difference is at light throttle, 3rd gear comes in a little sooner at cruise.

The spring is the servo spring.

I have a CK trans in my GN and he builds one great trans not to mention he will fully stand by his product. I noticed he installed a CZ VB and as I was reading his book I could not understand why he did not use the br VB. Now I understand thank you brian. That makes me like the trans I have even more Excellent feature!! :D .
