Broken Turbo

I had my car out the other night and I was beating on it alot.
During one of the blasts I made, i heard a pop. I let off of the throttle, and pulled over and checked every thing out. Every thing checked out fine. So i tryied to boost the car up a little, and the car did not boost at all. I started to drive home, and on the way back smoke just started to poor out of the exshaust.
I checked the car out when i got home. Everything externally checked out ok. Them I pulled off maf pipe a noticed a little oil. I then pulled of all the IC pipes and there was oil every where. I then pulled the compressor side of turbo off and thats when I saw the bent shaft. The compressor wheel some how hit the compressor housing and bent the shaft and broke the tips off of the wheel. My question is, should I be worried about pieces of metal going throught the intercooler and into the motor? I only drove the car for about 5 mins after I heard the noise from the car. Other than that the car drove fine on the way home.

I'd change the oil right away and clean out the IC before turning it on again. Hope nothing got too far and can be cleaned out with the oil change.

Yes you should be worried. The tips of the compressor went somewhere, and you know where
The only other thing you do besides what Jorge said is drop the pan and check it for pieces of debris.

Why check the pan??? What will you be looking for in there. If the ends of the compressor wheel came off they would be in the bottom of the intercooler, right. Tarey D.

Tarey you're probably right I had my head in my a$$ the other day. They might be in the IC or they might have gone out the exhaust, or they might have scratched a cylinder wall. All you can do is clean it and hope for the best

I would be very worried just had to get a engine rebuild done because peices made it in the engine when my factory turbo blew.
