I picked up a nice used Erson 214/214 cam from a guy on here, I also had my heads done with some comp 980's.

84-85 with 86 conversion will be a stock rebuild, stock turbo, bigger injectors, and fuel pump for now.

no head porting work, or intake porting work. Is this cam going to hurt me or help.

Keep in mind, I did not have a cam to begin with, and I picked this one up at a decent price.

It is going in a 92 firebird, stall is not selected, TH350 trans, 4.10 gears

I would say it would be fine, depending on the lift you would need to have your vavleguide cut down, and run a 3000 to 3500 stall and it will be good.

when I had my heads done, I did not have the valve guides cut down. Do you know the specs on this cam. I will google, but I think they are like .460 something.
