cam sensor installation

For whatever reason, my cam sensor wont seat with the timing chain cover. ive tried everything I can think of but theres about an 1/4 inch gap between the base of the cam sesor and the tc cover. I can tell its going in the oil pump groove also. Scared to tighten the bolt and damage something...your thoughts?

I've read this same post before, and had the problem myself, I just carefully and slowly tighten the bolt and it seated completely. IIRC, thats the same thing I read with whomever posted the same thing, they tightened the bolt down as well.

Put a little oil on the oring and it should push in.

I agree. I've never had to force a cam sensor in. In addition to some oil, it sometimes it helps to twist the sensor in or rotate the engine a little.
